Dillard Drive Middle School is located in Raleigh NC; the school empower all students with the academic potential to strive for excellence, with the help of professional and friendly staff and teachers. The Classrooms are inviting places where children and teachers are actively involved in the teaching/learning process. The staff creatively covers curriculum as outlined in the Standard Course of Study. Staff members are highest professional standards and are committed to continuous professional improvement.
In classrooms, the students actively engaged in various activities with the help of teachers who serve as facilitators. We provide various opportunities for students to grow through active participation in small groups, whole group, and as an individual. Teachers are constantly assessing students’ need to better serve each child, there are various programs to teach the students like maths program, Literature reading Programs, Academically Gifted Program and Enrichment program these programs designing and implementing is an on-going process that is regular, consistent, collaborative. The school actively participate in staff development opportunities to continually enhance and develop good teaching strategies that results in student’s development and these efforts help the student in achievement of knowledge and higher ranks and grades and hence the school is recognized as a “School of Excellence.”
To promote the learning related developments and efforts at Dillard Driving School they encourage collaborative effort among teachers, students, parents, and community. Parent volunteers assist teachers on a daily basis with reading, the instruction and provide to enrichment activities for students the administrators are actively involved in all facets of the school and its mission. The principal and assistant principal are visible, accessible and supportive of parents, teachers and students. They encourage open communication, and high expectations for students and staff.
The special feature at the school is the traditional curriculum that the schools offer to the students, this curriculum offers high quality instruction, opportunities for advanced studies to the students in various interested areas, and there various extra-curricular activities for overall development of the students, these classes can be taken after school or on weekends and both inside and outside the classrooms to help the students learn more efficiently, but the outdoor classrooms are generally located in the campus of the school, basically these are special courses other than the curriculum courses so that the students can select their interested course and learn it.
